    Matiu/ Sommes Island Trip

    Hi All

Day trip to Sommes island is happening on 14th of April
plan is to meet at 10am Queens wharf and return at 4.25.  Doc pays for ferry over there, but there is a limit of 20 people.
Not 100% sure what sort of work we will be doing yet but possibilities are: cutting down karo (pittisporum crassifolium?!?), tree planting, bird counting/ monitoring, work on heritage buildings - painting etc.
if you're keen to come let me know.  Would be good to know sooner rather than later as i need to let Doc know about numbers.

    Cool

Sorry if you have to miss out on Jess's Naturalist Tramp to come:)

Yeah I'd love to come on your trip, Sarah!
I'll try to avoid Jess's naturalist tramp for maybe not so obvious reasons, although, there is a wharf there ay?

PS it's only got one m in it.

Well, though its obviously not hard for all you punters to, you dont actually have to decide between somes and exceptionally awsome naturalist tramping, as that is being postponed for the moment. I might even join ya on somes if homework ties me down to the north island that week. Hey- maybe we can make it a naturalist somes trip and double the fun! ;)

Sounds great guys and I'm all for the idea of a Somes/naturalist combination!  I'm sure DoC would love it if their volunteer work force for the day turned out to be all "natural" :)

    Re: Matiu/ Sommes Island Trip

    Hey guys,

Fantastic to see so many people interested in going on trips.  But if you are interested in going on a trip you need to contact the trip organiser directly or get yourself on a sign up sheet at a club meeting.

So in this case of this trip

    Go so Sarah’s original post

    • Click the contact button (not the reply button - unless you just have a smart comment)
    • A drop down box will appear
    • Click email Sarah
    • Write Sarah an email

You need to include the following information

    • Your full name (first and last)
    • Your contact numbers (preferably a land line as well)
    • Any other information Sarah may need to know

Other trips you may need to include information like fitness grading and whether you have a car that could be used

Thanks all,  Somes will be a fantastic trip
